Find the number of ways of selecting 6 out of 10 subjects for an examination
A
218
B
216
C
215
D
210
correct option: d
\(^{10}C_{6}\)
\(\frac{10!}{(n - r)!r!}\)
n = 10, r = 6
= \(\frac{10!}{(10 - 6)!6!}\)
= \(\frac{10!}{4!6!}\)
= \(\frac{10 \times 9 \times 8 \times 7}{4 \times 3 \times 2 \times 1}\)
= 5 x 3 x 2 x 7
= 210
\(\frac{10!}{(n - r)!r!}\)
n = 10, r = 6
= \(\frac{10!}{(10 - 6)!6!}\)
= \(\frac{10!}{4!6!}\)
= \(\frac{10 \times 9 \times 8 \times 7}{4 \times 3 \times 2 \times 1}\)
= 5 x 3 x 2 x 7
= 210
